Strategic Directions 2005 - 2010

More than 150 internal and external stakeholders contributed to the development of the Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre Strategic Plan 2005 – 2010. Socio-economic trends, provincial priorities, veterans’ issues, human resources issues in health care, and other pertinent data were woven in to stakeholder input culminating in the following five Strategic Directions.

Strategic Direction #1

The Perley Rideau will pursue all feasible means for obtaining the appropriate resources to:

  • Provide a secure and comfortable environment for residents;
  • Raise the level of care for community residents toward to the level of care for veterans; and
  • Maintain the physical plant, upgrading it where necessary, to meet contemporary expectations for long-term care homes.

Strategic Direction #2

 

The Perley Rideau will address the unique challenges of having to provide different levels of nursing care to veterans and community residents.

Strategic Direction #3

The Perley Rideau will provide leadership in long-term care and in caring for those affected with all kinds and stages of dementia.

Strategic Direction #4

To provide excellent care for our residents, the Perley Rideau will remain an employer of choice by attracting and retaining motivated staff and volunteers with the necessary skills.

Strategic Direction #5

The Perley Rideau will broaden and improve the scope of care for seniors.
