Volunteers
The Perley Rideau volunteers are a vital component of our healthcare team adding to the well-being of our residents in a multitude of ways. Volunteers bring news and energy to our residents from the community along with a caring and friendly attitude to share. For the volunteers, their time with us offers opportunities to meet new friends, help others, learn new skills, and gain experience in the health care field.
All volunteers participate in a thorough screening and orientation process, and we match their activities to personal interests and time availability. The Volunteer Services office provides ongoing support for and information to volunteers.
How much time a volunteer devotes to the Perley Rideau varies from person to person. Some people visit for an hour or two every week. Others help with monthly activities like birthday parties or annual events like Remembrance Day.
